Common Stories, Common Ground

We believe that forgiveness is potentially a “lost virtue” in today’s world. Its absence is often described as a loss of empathy by psychology intervention programs—and we think empathy may be necessary but not sufficient for forgiveness to take place. Nevertheless, we think that the virtual absence of public conversation about forgiveness—which formerly regularly took place in homes and communal gatherings, undermines community and commitment. Our hopes are to keep lines of communication open and provide platforms of communication where honest conversations about forgiveness can take place.
